"Jacob Pfeiffer's Indian paintings give a nostalgic view of a lost way of life. The still lifes ... recall the great age of Dutch painting in the 17th centuries ... textures of the fruit are extraordinary. His ability to paint surfaces - glass, metal or fabric - is incredible. Still lifes may be a new subject for Mr. Pfeiffer, but he is already a master - and certainly the finest painter of that genre in this part of the country."
